Education And Literacy (Formal/Non- Formal And Vocational Education


LDF has been actively involved in education, contributing significantly to both formal and non-formal educational sectors. The LDF have established ten schools, including six elementary schools, one higher secondary school, and three primary schools, aimed at providing quality education to children in underserved areas. Alongside formal education, LDF runs the Adolescent and Adult Learning and Training Program (AALTP), which enrolled 500 out-of-school children, with a particular emphasis on promoting girls' education. In addition, LDF works extensively on community education and awareness, organizing a variety of programs to foster a better understanding of the importance of education. These initiatives include seminars, workshops, and parent-teacher meetings, all designed to engage communities and encourage active participation in their children's education. LDF further strengthens its educational efforts by collaborating with the Sindh Government’s Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Program and the Sindh Education Foundation (SEF), both of which support skill development and vocational training programs, helping individuals acquire practical skills to improve their livelihoods.

The aim of LDF's Education area of work is to:

  1. Provide Quality Education: Ensure access to quality formal and non-formal education for marginalized children, especially girls, through established schools and alternative learning programs.
  2. Promote Awareness: Raise awareness in communities about the importance of education by organizing seminars, workshops, and parent-teacher conferences.
  3. Empower through Skill Development: Offer skill development training to enhance educational opportunities and improve livelihoods, in collaboration with government programs and educational foundations.



Vocational Training


LDF has been actively involved in vocational programs in different trades such as tailoring, CIT, plumbing, entrepreneurship, welding & mobile repair. Also link with local industries to facilitate internship & opportunities for job of trainees.

The aim of LDF's Vocational Training area of work is to:

  1. Equip Individuals with Marketable Skills: Provide training in various trades such as tailoring, CIT, plumbing, welding, entrepreneurship, and mobile repair to help individuals gain practical, job-ready skills.
  2. Improve Employment Opportunities: Facilitate internships and job placement opportunities by linking trainees with local industries, enhancing their chances of securing employment.
  3. Promote Economic Empowerment: Empower marginalized communities by offering skills training that enables individuals to become self-sufficient and improve their livelihoods.



Health


Lanjari Development Foundation (LDF) has made a significant impact in the health sector by organizing various initiatives aimed at improving healthcare in underserved areas. LDF sets up medical camps and dispensaries to provide essential healthcare services to people in rural communities. In addition to medical care, LDF focuses on delivering social services such as vaccination drives and health education programs to raise awareness about health practices. Furthermore, LDF is actively involved in providing food and shelter to the homeless, ensuring their basic needs are met. LDF also works on Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) projects, striving to ensure access to clean water and proper sanitation facilities for communities.

The aim of LDF's Health area of work is to:

  1. Improve Healthcare Access: Provide essential healthcare services to rural and underserved communities through medical camps and dispensaries.
  2. Increase Health Awareness: Promote better health practices and disease prevention through vaccination drives and educational programs.
  3. Support the Vulnerable: Provide food, shelter, and other basic necessities to homeless individuals.
  4. Ensure Clean Water and Hygiene: Implement Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) projects to provide access to clean water and sanitation, improving overall community health.



Nutrition And Food Security


Lanjari Development Foundation (LDF) is committed to addressing nutrition and food security challenges within its communities. To combat malnutrition, LDF implements programs that provide nutritional supplements, healthcare interventions, and screening services for children and pregnant & lactating women (PLWs) to identify those at risk. Individuals requiring further medical care are referred to Basic Health Units (BHU) and District Centers for further treatment. LDF also conducts awareness sessions and advocacy campaigns to educate communities about the importance of proper nutrition and health practices. Additionally, Iron Folic Acid (IFA) supplements are provided to prevent and treat iron deficiency anemia. In terms of food security, LDF works to ensure a steady supply of nutritious food and implements programs aimed at improving food access and addressing food security challenges. These efforts contribute to improving community livelihoods and promoting better overall health.

The aim of LDF's Nutrition and Food Security area of work is to:

When it comes to child protection, LDF is ensuring the safety and well-being of children within their communities. LDF supports vulnerable families by collaborating with schools, healthcare providers and community organizations. Through different initiatives, LDF strives to protect the rights of women and children, empower them and create a more equitable society by working on child marriage, sexual harassment, insecurity, safety and wellbeing in their communities.

The aim of LDF's Protection and Human Rights area of work is to:

  2. Provide Support to Women: Offer counseling, legal assistance, and access to essential resources for women to ensure their protection and empowerment.

In Poverty Alleviation, LDF implements programs aimed at lifting families out of poverty by providing them with resources, skills training, and employment opportunities to those in need. LDF supports sustainable farming practices and livestock management techniques in the field of Livestock and Agriculture by promoting diversifying livelihoods, contributing to better nutrition and economic stability within communities.

The aim of LDF's Livelihood and Enterprises for Economic Growth area of work is to:

  1. Improve Economic Opportunities: Provide resources, skills training, and employment opportunities to lift families out of poverty and create long-term economic stability.
  2. Promote Sustainable Agriculture: Support sustainable farming practices and livestock management to improve food security, nutrition, and diversify livelihoods.

Persons With Disabilities


LDF shows a strong commitment to support individuals with disabilities by offering various services. LDF supply wheelchairs to improve the quality of life for people with mobility impairments, enabling them to move around independently and participate more fully in daily activities. LDF offers Baisakiyo support to assist disable people for applying in government and private sector jobs under the disability quota. LDF also help to facilitate the issuance of Disabilities CNICs for people with disability.

The aim of LDF's Persons with Disabilities area of work is to:

  1. Improve Mobility and Independence: Provide wheelchairs and mobility aids to individuals with disabilities to enhance their independence and ability to engage in daily activities.
  2. Facilitate Employment Opportunities: Support individuals with disabilities in applying for jobs under the disability quota in both government and private sectors, helping them gain employment and economic independence.
  3. Support Access to Legal Rights: Assist individuals with disabilities in obtaining Disability CNICs (National Identity Cards) to ensure they have access to social, legal, and governmental benefits.

Safe Drinking Water And Solar Energy


LDF plays a crucial role in ensuring access to safe drinking water and sustainable energy solutions in rural communities. Through various initiatives, LDF provides hand pumps and water tanks, which are essential for accessing clean and safe water.
