Community Mobilization Project
The primary function of a Indus Community programme is to organize, motivate, and mobilize the community to participate in the development activity.
ICEF believes that success and sustainability of the Programme depends entirely on quality of community mobilization. This requires developing a proactive community that is aware of its issues and equipped to handle them.
Community organizations (CO) are established in order to achieve this goal. The CO, which has between 15 and 25 members, is a crucial venue for utilizing the capacity of the populace to participate actively in the management of development operations. COs typically manage tasks including saving, organizing household-level growth, microcredit, and micro investment. Members of CO gather every two weeks or once a month to talk about their goals and issues, building on their current social capital and shifting their focus toward development.
