  1. Foundation Assisted Schools (FAS) Programme (on-going) July-2016 to Continue


  2. LDF is effectively implementing the “Foundation Assisted Schools (FAS)” project with financial support from the Sindh Education Foundation (SEF) and the Government of Sindh. Under this project LDF is operating 7 Schools, this project, initiated in July 2016, is being executed in District Ghotki, Sindh.

    The main goal of this project is to ensure inclusive, equitable, and quality education for all by providing essential resources, fostering an engaging learning environment, promoting professional teacher development, and supporting marginalized children, thereby contributing to lifelong learning and the achievement of SDG Goal 4. LDF is dedicated to improving students' educational experiences by providing free textbooks and additional learning materials that foster activity-based, interactive learning and enhance writing and comprehension skills. The organization ensures access to basic facilities , including safe drinking water, clean and hygienic classrooms, and well-maintained toilets, to create a conducive learning environment.

    To engage students in extracurricular activities and promote environmental awareness, LDF has organized a plantation drive to enhance the aesthetic appeal of schools. Additionally, LDF focuses on the professional development of teachers, aiming to improve teaching methodologies and achieve better learning outcomes.

    To date, over 4,570 children including 1,169 girls and 3,401 boys are enrolled in the Foundation Assisted Schools .This initiative particularly supports children from marginalized backgrounds, including street children, ensuring inclusivity and equal opportunities in education.

    The program directly contributes to the realization of SDG Goal 4, which emphasizes providing inclusive, equitable, and quality education while promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all.

    Moreover, 10 students are selected in fully funded scholarship program of SEF & GoS and they are getting free education in their schools as below.

  3. SEF Assisted Schools (SAS) Programme (on-going) December-2015 to Continue


  4. LDF is effectively implementing the SEF Assisted Schools (SAS) project with financial support from the Sindh Education Foundation (SEF) and the Government of Sindh. Under this project LDF is operating 3 Schools, this project, initiated in December 2015, is being executed in District Ghotki, Sindh.

    The main goal of the project is to empower the under-privileged communities to bring about social change by creating and facilitating new approaches to learning and education. Operating under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) framework, the initiative aims to improve the quality of education and literacy rates, focusing on reaching underserved and remote regions of Sindh.

    LDF has implemented various strategies to enhance learning, including:

    • Establishing audio/visual rooms and technologically advanced classrooms.
    • Designing interactive learning materials and classroom activities.
    • Distributing free school supplies and course materials.
    • Installing solar panels in school buildings for alternative energy solutions.
    • To instill environmental awareness, LDF involved students in tree plantation campaigns, educating them on climate change and the importance of protecting their natural environment.


    • Key Impacts of the SAS Project:
    • Enrollment: 720 children, comprising 218 girls and 502 boys, are enrolled in three schools under the program.



  5. Adolescent and Adult Learning and Training Programme (on-going) July-2024 to Continue


  6. LDF is successfully implementing its project titled Adolescent and Adult Learning and Training Programme (AALTP)) with financial support of Sindh Education Foundation (SEF) & Government of Sindh. The project started in July 2024 and covers district Ghotki Sindh. It is an ongoing project.

    The objective of this project is to provide accelerated formal primary education for vulnerable adolescents and basic functional literacy for adults together with a certified Skill Development/Vocational Training course for each learner to enable them to secure opportunities for human capital development and socio-economic growth.

    LDF has distributed free textbooks and additional learning materials to enhance students' writing and learning skills. To provide a safe and clean learning environment, LDF has ensured the availability of essential facilities, including safe drinking water, hygienic classrooms, well-maintained toilets, and access to a fully equipped audio/visual room for interactive learning.

    So far, over 350 adolescents, including both girls and boys, have been enrolled in the Adolescent and Adult Learning and Training Program. Furthermore, LDF has enrolled 52 adults in its Skill Development Program, where they successfully completed courses in industrial tailoring, embroidery, and mobile repair. Many graduates of this program have established their own small businesses, contributing to economic empowerment and community development in their towns.



  7. Strengthening Local Civil Society and Community-based Organizations and their Capacity in the Nutrition Sector in Sindh (SIGN) (on-going) 1st September-2024 to Continue


  8. LDF is successfully implementing its project titled Strengthening Local Civil Society and Community-based Organizations and their Capacity in the Nutrition Sector in Sindh (SIGN). LDF has signed the agreement with International Rescue Committee (IRC) on Nutrition Project in Union Council Lohi & Mithri of Taluka Khangharh District Ghotki. This initiative aims to address the root causes of malnutrition by mobilizing communities, raising awareness, screening and fostering proactive advocacy for improved nutrition outcomes . The project has successfully achieved several key milestones to strengthen local civil society and community-based organizations in the nutrition sector in Sindh.

    • Completed area mapping and selection of Nutrition Champions.
    • Conducted a three-day training Session for Nutrition Champions with IRC's support.
    • Established Village Health Committees and Community Support Groups.
    • Organized around 50 awareness sessions.
    • Organized around 30 School Bases Awareness Sessions.
    • Organized a collaborative project launching ceremony with multiple CSOs and stakeholders.
    • Conducted more than 3000 screenings to identify malnourished individuals.
    • Identified and addressed more than 70 Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM) cases.
    • Developed and disseminated IEC (Information, Education, and Communication) materials to enhance awareness.
    • Celebrated World Food Day, including a student speech competition and stakeholder participation.
    • Additionally, Iron Folic Acid (IFA) supplements are provided to PLWs.
    • Arranged a Women Rights Day event, "No Silence No Violence," advocating for gender equality.
    • Developed and Implemented more than 30 SAPs
    • All activities are going on as per the set plan.



  9. Strengthening Local Civil Society and Community-based Organizations and their Capacity in the Nutrition Sector in Sindh (SIGN) (on-going) 1st September-2024 to Continue


  10. LDF is successfully implementing its project titled Strengthening Local Civil Society and Community-based Organizations and their Capacity in the Nutrition Sector in Sindh (SIGN). LDF has signed the agreement with Strengthening Participatory Organization (SPO) on Capacity Building, the aim of this project is toLDF's collaboration with SPO to build the capacity of its team and strengthen local civil society organizations in the nutrition sector through training, workshops, and community engagement, through this project SPO has trained to the LDF Senior Management Team, Staff of the LDF and Board of Directors on different tools, Financial Management, Good Governance, Accountability & Transparency, Program & Projects implementation, Writing Proposals & Budgeting, Action Plan, Workplan , policy dialogue and specially on Nutrition component.

    SPO played a vital role as the capacity-building partner, conducting workshops and training sessions to enhance the skills and knowledge of project Staff. Additionally, SPO invited the project team to participate in DCCN (District Coordination and Collaboration Network) meetings and intersectoral workshops, fostering strong relationships with other organizations and government departments. These efforts significantly contributed to the successful establishment of Village Health Communities and Community Support Groups and the overall strengthening of local civil society and community-based organizations in the nutrition sector.
